Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou in Beaumont Puy De Domme, France, was born on the 9th August, 1976. Audrey Tautou is an eldest child of four. Her parents as a dentist as well as a teacher, understood and supported their daughter's enthusiasm for theater and drama at the age of a stage novice. The support they provided was enough to combat her goal of becoming a primatologist. Early success and a rapid rise in fame marked her as a young actor. In 1998 after her studies, she participated in a French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching her acting career in earnest. Tautou attended the Institut Catholique de Paris, attended church in her youth and was educated Catholic. She is now separating herself from her Catholic upbringing. Apart from her acting profession, she has also pursued modeling. She was the model of L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and has been referred as "The Chanel Muse". Photographing is also a passion and she recently exhibited her work at the Arles festival, under the title Superficial. Her photos are mostly about famous people and celebrities. They also feature self-portraits as well. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her first role in Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie was a global success at the box office and was awarded awards across the globe. It's the biggest French language film ever on the US. The film's success led Tautou to a variety of roles, including British dramas like Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
