Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde, as well as Hair. As the character Essie In You Can't Take It With You she received the Tony Award. Annaleigh has been collaborating in projects with award-winning directors, actors and producers throughout her career. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main characters in the first impeachment proceedings in America for more than a century. In two seasons, Ashford was a star of CBS's hit series B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Additional Broadway credits includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford now splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
